Eagle Rock Adventure

This program is designed to give the camper a great taste of the outdoors! Enrolled teens will learn outdoor living skills through daily trips, including an overnight backpacking trip, a two-day canoe trip, an all-day mountain biking trip on the camp trails, and more. Activities will not only offer teens great exposure to high-adventure fun, but also provide them with excellent preparation for the LT/CIT program series. Although no previous CLC experience is necessary, campers should be moderately active prior to arriving at camp. Age 13 & up. Extra fee: $150 per session. Session 2 or 3.

Horseback Riding

Be a regular camper but participate in a daily English style riding lesson in the ring or on the trail. Sign up early – space is limited. For all ages and ability levels, including beginners. Extra fee: $150 for Sessions 1, 2 or 3.

Hands-on Horsemanship

For intermediate and advanced riders who just can’t get enough of horses! In addition to daily riding lessons, you’ll learn about horse care through daily hands-on experience at the stables. You’ll also get to spend 3 days living at the barn during an extended overnight adventure. Age 10 and up. Extra fee: $150. Session 2 only.

Lifeguarding

Would you like to become certified as a lifeguard this summer? Come to Crystal Lake and participate in a two-week Red Cross Lifeguarding course. Not only will you have fun learning new skills in this rigorous course, but you will also enjoy many of the regular activities of camp. Strong swimming skills required. Age 15 and up. Extra fee: $250. Session 1 or 3 only.

Trailblazers

Ready for adventure? Break away from the regular camp schedule and embark on daily adventures in and out of camp - ropes courses, tubing, exploring, and extended overnights. Learn about teamwork as you work together with other trailblazers on a service project for camp. Age 13 and up. Extra fee: $75 per session. Sessions 1, 2 or 3.

Leadership Training

Discover yourself and what you are truly capable of during this four-week program!  This program has been extended to four weeks instead of two and is designed to challenge campers age 15 and up to be their best and grow spiritually.  Supportive and experienced staff help Leadership Trainees (LT’s) participate in an extended backpacking trip, canoe packing trip, ropes course training, rock climbing, an overnight solo, and so much more.  LT’s grow socially and learn about managing group dynamics, backcountry living, how to be an effective leader, and how to be a part of a team.  The LT program, while not mandatory to completing the CIT program is a valuable stepping-stone and foundation for the Counselor in Training program.  Age 15 and up. Sessions 1 and 2 (four week program). Extra fee: $250. Campers must apply and be interviewed for the LT program, click here to apply.

Counselor-in-Training

The Crystal Lake CIT course is a 4-week training course which prepares campers to be successful staff members whether in cabins, teaching activities, or in other areas of the camp program. The CIT program is both a job training program and an educational experience. CITs participate in daily classes divided into 4 key areas: Staff, Camp, Campers, and Program. Topics include working as part of a team, responding to others' needs, time management, decision making, public speaking, and Christian Science healing. Most importantly, CITs have the opportunity to daily put what is learned into practice in a supportive Christian Science environment. If you are interested in the out-of-doors, working with children, making new friends, and growing in your understanding and application of Christian Science - join us this summer. Make a difference - challenge yourself and others by being part of this year's class. Age 16 and up. Sessions 2 & 3 (4-week program, both sessions required) Total Fee: $1300, click here to apply.

Project Workers

Do you love to lend a helping hand? Would you like to get some experience working at camp and a $50/week discount on your tuition? If so, then apply to be a part of our project worker program. Project Workers spend approximately 2 hours per day helping out behind the scenes at camp in the kitchen, stables, office, housekeeping, or lifeguarding. Age 14 and up. Call or email for an application.

Worker Program

Ages 14 and up.  Participants experience camp life “behind the scenes” in the crucial areas of Kitchen, Stables, Housekeeping, and Maintenance.  Several hours each day is spent working and learning how to support these areas of camp while still attending all-camp evening activities and the occasional class period.  Participants will also have the opportunity to complete the Lifeguard Training Program to become certified by the American Red Cross during the session.

Participants will live by gender in cabins, or separately in the stables.  This program can be done as a stand alone program or feeds nicely into the CIT program (sessions 2+3), which provides leadership experience in the other areas of camp – cabin life and program teaching.  The worker program is also a good option for campers not interested in Leadership Training (LT) or Counselor in Training  (CIT) but still want to “give back” and be of service during the summer.  Session 1 Only $800 Discount off the standard session rate.  $500 total for the program, $750 total with Lifeguard Training.
