August 3, 2004: Everyone has returned from very successful overnights. The weather was great and everyone had a fun time. In the evening, cabins shared stories of their adventures and then watched a presentation by Discovery Bound. View photos from today.

August 2, 2004: Everyone was thankful today for a nice, sunny day as groups headed out on their overnights. Some groups are camping nearby on camp property while others are hiking a good distance or camping in state parks. We look forward to having everyone back tomorrow! View photos from today.

August 1, 2004: Today after Sunday School we had an all-camp game of Capture the Flag. The Turkeys and Wolves overcame the Bears and Turtles in an intense game. After a rainy picnic supper, campers and cabins performed hymns, songs and skits at Vespers.

July 30, 2004: Today after a fairly dry day of regular activites, we had a CLC International Night. Campers from England, Kazakhstan, Russia, Grenada, Mexico and Ethiopia shared their culture with us. The Crimson Arrow class dramatized a myth. Flags from all of these countries have been added to our collection in the dining hall. View photos from today.

July 29, 2004: Today was Little Olympics. Clans competed against each other in a variety of events, both on land and in water. We finished off the evening with a great Council Fire put on with the CITs help. View photos from today.

July 28, 2004: We finally had better weather today. We were all grateful to return to our normal classes. In the evening, many campers and staff shared great testmonies at our testimony meeting. View photos from today.

July 27, 2004: Today was the rainiest day ever! The only thing to do in these situations is mud Ultimate Frisbee followed by mud soccer which is exactly what many kids did. The barn dance was as successful as ever though. View photos from today.

July 26, 2004: We had our first day of classes today. Some classes were forced inside because of the rain, but many carried on outdoors. In the evening, only Dunwoody survived their entire cookout outside; the rest of the cabins found kitchens around camp to cook up their macaroni and cheese. View some of our cabin photos.

July 25, 2004: Today was our first full day of Session III. After Sunday School and lunch, campers signed up for their daily activities, learned waterfront rules and did free swim. In the evening, we had a Vespers program where campers and cabins sang hymns and did skits based on our theme, "Blessed are the peacemakers." View photos from today.

July 23, 2004: Today was packing day! Unfortunately, our carnival was rained out but the separate camps gathered in the afternoon and did activities and then everyone met at the dining hall for a beach day banquet. We had so many great pictures that there's a big album of banquet, flag raising and goodbye photos here.

July 22, 2004: Today was our last day of activities. In the evening, we had a great Talent Show with a variety of acts. The School of Rock class performed, as did the Musical Theater class and a number of other talented musicians. See photos from today.

July 19, 2004: Everyone cleared out of camp today for a two night hiking and camping trip. We'll return Wednesday night in time for testimony meeting! View photos from today.

July 18, 2004: Capture the Flag day today! After lunch, the camp split up into clans and competed to find the flag. Afterwards, they picked up gear from the campcraft room to begin preparing for extended overnights. We finished the evening with performances and a reading of the Sermon on the Mount at Vespers.View photos from today.

July 17, 2004: Today after our regular activities, each cabin got to select an activity to do for the evening. Cabins swam, hung out at the gamefield, had waterballoon fights and all kinds of other fun activities. Most cabins ended their night with ice cream or brownies.

July 16, 2004: Tonight we had a great Council Fire. The Crimson Arrow class put on a skit and taught everyone else the beaver game. The clans made cheers and competed against each other in tug of war. We were thankful that the rain let up just in time!

July 15, 2004: Today was World Cup Soccer Day! In the morning, everyone divided into teams and painted flags and made up cheers. We began the games with a torch lighting ceremony similar to the Olympic ceremony. In the afternoon, teams engaged in intense competition as they played 4 games against other teams. After dinner, we all gathered to watch teams Brazil and South Korea in a fierce battle for first place. South Korea was victorious! View photos from today.

July 14, 2004: Afternoon storms today meant many campers and counselors gathering in the Lodge or Dining Hall while waiting for it to pass. Picnic supper had to be inside but luckily the weather didn't affect another great testimony meeting full of sharing.

July 13, 2004: Better weather today so our classes resumed as usual and cabins were able to have their cookouts. The Counselors in Training braved the ropes course in the dark tonight. View photos from today.

July 12, 2004: The rainy, muddy day today didn't dissuade all the classes. The mountain biking class got nice and dirty and the Trailblazers did some of the ropes course elements. The cookouts were postponed and the barn dance was held instead. We're hoping for cookouts on Tuesday night! View photos from today.

July 11, 2004: Today was our first full day of Session II. We started off the morning with Sunday School and followed it up with stand-by inspection. After lunch was the activity fair where campers signed up for the classes they want to take. Being so warm, free swim was a giant hit and we finally had a picnic supper where it didn't rain. July 10, 2004: Today we said goodbye to some campers and welcomed in many more. Everyone moved into their cabins, took swim and riding tests and met their cabinmates. After dinner, the girls' and boys' camps met separately to get to know each other.

July 09, 2004: Today was the last day of camp for many campers (and some staff). In the morning, the people who are leaving packed while others made friendship books or played games. In the afternoon was the carnival, complete with cotton candy and a dunk tank! In the evening and well into the night was the Hollywood themed banquet where campers and staff dressed up as famous people and received their class awards Oscars style. We closed with one last rendition of Symbol of Serenity while holding hands at the lake. Photos coming soon!

July 08, 2004: Today was the last day of activities. We wrapped up the night with a big Talent Show, full of singing, dancing, musical acts and even some magic. View photos from today.

July 07, 2004: Another great day of activities. Classes are winding down; tomorrow is the last day of scheduled classes. The Trailblazers headed out in the afternoon to do the ropes course and finished just in time for yet another rain storm. The rain made for some good pre and post-dinner playing in the mud! July 06, 2004: All groups returned safe and sound from their overnights today. The weather was super and everyone had a great time. Campers relaxed at the waterfront in the afternoon and listened to a presentation from our friends at Longyear Museum.

July 05, 2004: Today all the groups headed out for a camping overnight. Some groups hiked and some were driven to state park areas. All groups will return on Wednesday, except for the LTs who are canoeing until Thursday evening. Check back later for photos of the overnights!

July 04, 2004: Today CLC celebrated the Fourth of July in full force. In the afternoon, the clans competed against each other in a great game of Capture the Flag, the Turkeys and Turtles coming out triumphant. In the evening, cabins prepared skits of historical moments and performed them for each other. After everyone changed into their pajamas, they reconvened on the game field for a huge bonfire (built by the LTs), sparklers and a fireworks show. View photos from today.

July 03, 2004: Another beautiful warm day at CLC. Activities carried on as usual. During free period, campers finished up their tie-dyes, played gaga in the gamefield or basketball on the courts. The evening activity was cabin choice...cabins danced, rode mountain bikes, did archery, swam and a variety of other activities. View photos from today.

July 02, 2004: We were back to regular activities today. It warmed up a great deal and was nice and sunny. The riding classes took advantage of the nice weather and went on trail rides. The fishing class had a number of successful catches. The evening activity was a new one for CLC...our own version of Family Feud. Cabins competed against each other to find the most popular answers to questions that had been asked to the counselors such as favorite hymns, best color of bug juice, etc. View photos from today.

July 01, 2004: Today was a CLC special activity day. Instead of regular activities, campers got to sleep in and have breakfast in their cabins. The rest of the day was for Clan Survival. Separated into the four clans (Bears, Wolves, Turkeys, Turtles), everyone set off to build shelters, "hunt for food" (archery), build fires and compete in canoe races. The day ended with a Council Fire at the teepees. View photos from today.

June 30, 2004: A bright, sunny morning made for good swimming classes today. Many classes are working hard on class projects and the guitar and drama classes should provide some great Talent Show entertainment. After a great picnic dinner of cheesesteak sandwiches and ice cream, campers and staff enjoyed sharing testimonies at the Wednesday evening meeting. View photos from today.

June 29, 2004: Today was a big trip day at CLC. The Leadership Training group left after breakfast for a three day hike. After lunch, the Trailblazers headed off for Rock Run where they cooked their own dinner and did some hiking. The day was full of activities for those who remained in camp and we were thankful for some nice weather. In the evening was the barn dance and we finished off with hayrides for all the cabins. June 28, 2004: Despite the rain, the first day of classes was a great success. Classes took refuge inside or played out in the rain. In the evening, cabins braved even more rain to cook supper outdside over a fire. It's easy to ignore the rain when there's s'mores! View photos from today.

June 27, 2004: Today was our first full day of camp. Campers and staff started the morning off with outdoor Sunday School classes and then in the afternoon, campers picked their daily activities, learned about waterfront rules and finished up swim tests. Meanwhile, the Leadership Training group crossed swampy Catfish Pond, eeew! After picnic supper, campers and staff performed musical acts at Vespers and then worked with their cabins to do impromptu skits demonstrating different takes on our theme for the summer, "Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called the children of God."
