Sunday December 9

Read this article in the Christian Science Monitor to find out what campers Kendra Scott and Leslie Owens are doing to help the children of Afghanistan!

Campers and families, what special activities are you up to these days? Write to news@crystallakecamps.org and let us know!

Saturday August 4

Yet another season of Little Olympics has been completed at CLC. On Thursday, the four clans spent the day in fierce competition, coming head to head in activities such as volleyball, basketball, three-legged races, gaga, and the lake run. After a brief break for lunch and rest hour, the clans reconvened at the waterfront where the games continued until dinner time. The competition isn't over yet though! There's still a few more games to be played as well as the ongoing blueberry picking contest. The winners won't be revealed until banquet night.

It's just about that time again, campers are getting ready to go out on overnights. The CITs and a few campers left last Wednesday to spend 5 days in Boston but will return on Sunday in time to head out with cabin groups on overnights. Monday morning a group of ten cameprs will leave for Ohiopyle where they will spend two days whitewater rafting. Other cabin groups are still deciding where to head for their next adventures.

Tonight's activity will be a first for CLC...karaoke! Thanks to the kindness of our nearby neighbor and maintenance man Landy Sheets, we have a karaoke machine for the evening. Campers and staff will meet at the Lodge for a night of singing, dancing, swimming and lots of snacks!

Tuesday July, 25

July 25th marks the release date of version 2 of the Crystal Lake Camps website. The site is still a work in progress as we continue to add more information but please check back often while we keep working. We hope that you'll find our new site easier to navigate and loaded with information and fun. As always, if you have any questions or comments, you can email our webmaster.

We're right in the middle of Second Session at CLC. Session II started off the second year of the Pathfinders program as well as the premier of Trailblazers. Both programs had an excellent turn out and have been busy with their activities. The Pathfinders spent the night at Haystacks, a local campground, and then spent the day exploring Williamsport. The Trailblazers kicked off their first session by creating a Slip-n-Slide on the ski slopes followed by an afternoon of rock climbing at Genessee View.

The rest of camp has been busy too. The CLC News class has been investigating and reporting on various topics of interest around camp. Look for their articles in the Chatter, expected to arrive early third session. Staff and campers are studying hard to learn new languages, make clay pots, and become physically fit in Kim's water fitness class.

The first Boston trip of the summer left early Wednesday morning and arrived in Boston in time to usher at the Wednesday night service at The Mother Church. Their week will be filled with activities at the Church Center as well as Longyear Museum. We'll look forward to having them back on Sunday.

We're gearing up for extended overnights now. Check back later to see what trips were scheduled!
